The Role

As PRODUCT MANAGER you will be responsible for developing our Client's product range in the United Kingdom which have a well established customer base including Plumbing & Heating Merchants, National and Independent Builders Merchants, Electrical Wholesalers, Specialist Distributors, OEMs etc.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Product
  • Responsible for Management of Marketing Department
  • Managing third party suppliers for product and for marketing agencies
  • To investigate, select and develop additional or amended products
  • Providing accurate information on potential market sector
  • Analyse competitor ranges & pricing and communicate effectively to stakeholders
  • Examining where new products fit into and enhance existing range
  • To provide accurate sales forecasts on new products
  • To manage and support purchasing, testing, marketing, launching & training of new & external products within agreed timescales and on budget
  • Provide product training for current and new products on launch
  • To improve GP margin and Standard margin across product groups
  • Reporting and achieving KPI's in line with UK and Corporate targets
  • Cooperation across multifunctional international teams
  • Communicating with Customers/ potential Customers in person, by phone, site visits, demonstrations
  • Launch process of any new products in the UK
  • External sourcing when required
  • Manage removal of products from range where market no longer exists or replacement product is available
  • Sourcing suitable new products within agreed budgets
  • Manage trade shows and identify new opportunities
  • Suggest requirements to improve product sales
  • Upload product mix on SAP
  • Utilise CRM Database development for both digital and direct marketing. Using this to identify and tailor marketing opportunities and build customer relationships
  • Marketing
    • Create and develop a Marketing Communications Strategy engaging with external Marketing Specialists, to include planning, negotiating and implementing of all Print / Online advertising, Digital / Direct Marketing, Sponsorship, Exhibitions and Events, Social Media
    • Liaise with Digital and Video Marketing partner
    • Gathering feedback from internal and external stakeholders following full exposure of product
    • Co-ordinating one-off pricing promotions in agreement with Sales and Marketing Director (SMD)
    • To produce and manage an annual budget with the agreement of the SMD. The budget must be monitored to ensure optimum return on investment and ensure it reflects the focus of the marketing strategy.
    • Reporting and achieving KPI's in line with UK and Corporate targets
    • Assessing and developing external marketing opportunities and advertising projects both in print and online
    • Cooperation across multifunctional international teams
    • Creating effective product to market launches
    • Ensuring all marketing is accurate, on point and delivered effectively
    • The smooth running of the Marketing Department
    • Agreeing KPI and Targets with Sales Director and communicating to team
    • Managing PDP process for all team members.
    • For the Health and Safety of themselves and visitors in the environment
    • Ensures compliance with Data Protection and service standards

    Person Specification

    To succeed in this role, you will need to be self-motivated with the desire to achieve goals and have an influence on company strategies. Knowledge of the distribution route to market is essential along with previous experience in the construction market and an understanding of the building product supply chain being an advantage.

    Full product training will be provided.
