Stock Controller

Key Responsibilities:

Order Management:

• Adhere to a pre-defined supplier order schedule and collaborate with branch managers to adjust order days, ensuring an even stock flow throughout the week.
• Review back-order reports to verify outstanding lines before placing new orders.
• Communicate with suppliers via phone or email to follow up on outstanding purchases and update purchase orders accordingly.
• Populate and use the order template to calculate optimum order quantities, ensuring strong stock availability.
• Update the Google Order Schedule with confirmed order dates.

Stock Control:

• Conduct monthly stock checks, investigate discrepancies, and adjust stock levels to actual counts.
• Identify supplier and branch location concerns regarding stock loss and communicate concerns to stock/branch managers and the relevant buyer.
• Run daily negative/positive reports to identify stock anomalies and take corrective action as needed.
• Review high sales reports and place orders to address unexpected demand.
• Flag low stock levels to the stock manager based on pre-set weeks of stock coverage and ensure buyers are made aware of supplier stock issues.

Supplier & Internal Communication:

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, shop floor staff, and internal departments.
• Regularly communicate with the Goods In department, ensuring stock is checked in and distributed to the shop floor in a timely manner.Ensure Goods In is made aware of missed deliveries.
• Coordinate with buyers and branch managers regarding stock shortages and slow-moving items.
• Update the Google delivery schedule with confirmed delivery dates for all orders.
• Collaborate with shop floor staff, managers, and merchandisers to improve aisle and bay organisation, optimising shelf space for better product accessibility.

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with both suppliers and internal teams.
• A proactive approach to identifying and resolving potential stock or supplier issues.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, with experience in ERP systems.
• A positive attitude and commitment to continuous improvement in operational efficiency.
