We are looking for someone who is motivated by targets, confident on the phone, and thrives on converting leads into sales while maintaining an excellent customer experience. We require someone that is available Tuesday to Saturday. Shift pattern is: Tuesday – Friday 9:00‑18:00 and Saturdays 7:00‑16:00.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Sales: Take full ownership of inbound and outbound sample leads and proactively convert them into full-value orders. The approach is to follow up on all sample requests, ensuring no opportunity is missed, including identifying upselling and cross‑selling opportunities across the full Builder Depot range. Confidently guide customers through their project needs.
- Phone‑based sales and support to customers who have ordered a sample. Ensuring we are following up consistently to maximise conversion rates.
- Labeling and Dispatch Improvement: Working to improve our samples operational processes and offer, including packaging and dispatching.
- Customer Interactions: Handling sample order‑related queries through Zendesk and CRM.
- Manual Handling: Carrying out daily manual handling tasks, including lifting up to 30kg.
- Replenishing Stock: Ensuring samples stock levels are maintained in the department.
Person Specification
- Sales Experience: Previous experience in a sales environment is an advantage, particularly in the same or similar industry (Construction products, flooring, carpeting etc).
- Great Customer Service: We approach sales in a non‑pushy friendly way, aiming to help the customer with their project and have them choose Builder Depot as their preferred supplier.
- Organizational Skills: You should be able to prioritise tasks effectively, ensuring deadlines are met even under pressure.
- Attention to detail: Attention to detail is critical to ensure the order is handled correctly.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary for internal collaboration and dealing with customer inquiries.
- IT Literacy: Comfort using computers and willingness to learn warehouse management systems.
- Physical Capability: Capable of handling manual tasks and lifting up to 30kg safely.
