You will manage the commercial delivery of demolition and site clearance projects across the London area, typically running 2–4 projects simultaneously. Projects range from £500K to £5M+ in value, including residential, commercial, and industrial demolition. The role sits at the interface between site management and commercial control, with responsibility for cost, claims, and client relations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cost planning, cost control, and monthly financial reporting on each project
  • Managing subcontractor quotations, payments, and performance
  • Recording variations, claims, and changes to scope
  • Tracking waste disposal, salvage value, and environmental costs
  • Contract administration and client liaison on commercial matters
  • Forecasting final account and managing variation procedures
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously across different phases
  • Reporting cost performance to Commercial Director and project teams

Essential Requirements

  • 5+ years as Quantity Surveyor in a demolition, civils, or heavy construction environment
  • 2+ years managing costs on multiple concurrent projects
  • Strong cost control and cost reporting experience
  • Proficiency in cost management software (Causeway, Ares, or similar)
  • Working knowledge of JCT and NEC contract forms
  • Understanding of waste management, environmental compliance, and salvage accounting
  • Ability to manage competing demands across multiple sites
  • Site-based or mobile working across London area
