A leading main contractor is seeking an experienced Finishing Foreman to join the team on a high-spec commercial office refurbishment in the heart of the City of London. This is a prominent CAT A/B refurbishment for a contractor with a strong pipeline of work across London. They need a hands-on finishing specialist who can drive quality through the closing stages of the project and deliver a snag-free handover.
The role
Reporting to the Site/Project Manager, you'll take ownership of the finishing phase, managing trades, sequencing the works, and holding subcontractors to the standard the client expects on a premium City scheme. Day to day you will:
- manage and coordinate finishing trades on site;
- drive quality control and lead the snagging and de-snagging process through to handover;
- monitor progress against programme and report on the finishing package;
- ensure all works are delivered to specification and on time;
- uphold health & safety standards across your areas.
What you'll need
- Proven experience as a Finishing Foreman on commercial office fit-out or refurbishment projects, ideally in central London.
- A sharp eye for detail and high finishing standards, with the ability to manage and motivate subcontractors.
- Strong understanding of programme and sequencing in the closing stages of a build.
- Valid CSCS card, SMSTS and First Aid.
- Excellent communication and the drive to deliver a quality handover.
The package
£250 to £280 per day (CIS), freelance, on a busy and well-run City of London project with a contractor offering genuine continuity of work for the right person.
