We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Diagnostic / Warranty Technician to join a busy and professional workshop in Edinburgh. This role is ideal for a skilled Vehicle Technician who enjoys advanced diagnostics, fault finding and major mechanical repairs, rather than routine servicing. You’ll be working in a modern workshop environment using OEM diagnostic tools and specialist equipment while handling complex repairs and warranty work. If you enjoy solving technical problems and working on challenging repairs, this is an excellent opportunity to join a workshop where your skills are recognised and rewarded.
Key Diagnostic Vehicle Technician Responsibilities- Diagnose complex vehicle faults using OEM diagnostic systems and specialist tools
- Carry out major mechanical repairs including engine and gearbox replacements
- Perform advanced electrical and mechanical fault finding
- Conduct root cause analysis in line with manufacturer warranty standards
- Use specialist equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters and smoke testers
- Complete road tests, recalibrations and system resets after repairs
- Accurately document work for warranty submissions and manufacturer compliance
- Support and mentor junior technicians within the workshop
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, workshop organisation and health & safety
- MI Level 3 qualification (or equivalent)
- Proven experience as a Diagnostic Technician, Master Technician or Senior Vehicle Technician
- Strong electrical and mechanical diagnostic skills
- Experience working with manufacturer diagnostic systems
- Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Strong team player with a proactive and professional approach
- £40,000 – £50,000 OTE + bonus + overtime
