We are working with a leading UK main contractor specialising in the delivery of large-scale industrial and logistics developments, including major warehouse, distribution and manufacturing facilities along the M4 corridor. Due to a strong pipeline of secured work, they are looking to appoint an experienced Construction Manager to support the delivery of multiple new-build industrial schemes.
Role Overview
As Construction Manager, you will take responsibility for the on-site construction delivery of major steel-frame industrial projects, typically valued between £10m–£80m. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will lead site teams, manage multiple subcontract packages and drive programme, quality and safety from groundworks through to handover. This role would suit an established Construction Manager or a strong Senior Site Manager ready to step up into a CM position on major industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day site operations across large industrial/logistics schemes
- Manage and coordinate multiple subcontract packages including groundworks, steel frame, cladding, M&E and externals
- Drive short-term programming and sequencing of works
- Take ownership of site health & safety, quality and programme performance
- Chair subcontractor meetings and daily coordination briefings
- Work closely with the Project, Commercial and Engineering teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Oversee inspections, snagging and sectional / final handovers
Requirements
- Experience working for a main contractor in a site management / construction management role
- Proven background delivering industrial, logistics or large commercial new-build projects
- Demonstrable experience on steel-frame and envelope packages
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage large site teams and subcontractors
- Excellent knowledge of construction processes, HSEQ and programme control
- SMSTS, CSCS (Black/Gold) and First Aid
