We are recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor delivering a major £130m construction project based in the Basingstoke region. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially driven QS looking to step into a key project role with long-term progression.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day commercial activities on a major live project
- Subcontract procurement, packages, and negotiations
- Cost planning, forecasting, and budget management
- CVRs, valuations, variations, and payment applications
- Work closely with the Commercial Lead and Project Leadership team
- Ensure contractual compliance and support risk management
- Build strong relationships with subcontractors and project stakeholders
Requirements:
- Experience as a Project QS (or strong Assistant QS ready to step up)
- Main contractor background preferred
- Strong knowledge of JCT
- Proven experience on large-scale construction projects
- Ability to manage commercial responsibilities with autonomy
- Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
