Overview
In this role you will lead the day-to-day delivery of nationwide commercial fit-out and light industrial projects, from mobilisation to handover. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to ensure safety, programme compliance and quality, delivering projects typically around 500k. The role requires regular UK travel and staying away from home as needed, with a focus on practical site leadership and operational excellence. You will contribute to delivering high‑quality sites for DWP environments and similar clients, shaping efficient site processes and standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day delivery of commercial fit-out and light industrial projects
- Own site operations from mobilisation through completion
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and site teams
- Ensure safe, on‑programme, quality‑driven project delivery
- Manage site logistics, sequencing and short-term programmes
- Conduct site inductions, briefings and toolbox talks
- Monitor progress and report against programme
- Liaise with Project Manager, client and wider project team
- Maintain accurate site records and documentation
- Ensure compliance with H&S legislation and company procedures
- Drive quality, snagging and handover through to completion
Key requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Manager in commercial fit-out, light industrial, refurbishment or design & build
- Experience managing projects around 500k
- Strong subcontractor and site management experience
- Good understanding of construction programmes, sequencing and site logistics
- Strong health & safety awareness
- SMSTS and Black CSCS required
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Willingness to travel nationwide and stay away from home when required
