We're recruiting for an experienced Freelance Project Manager to lead the delivery of a highly complex industrial development in Watford. While the end product is a modern distribution facility, the real challenge lies beneath it. This project is ground engineering heavy, involving extensive earthworks, significant infrastructure packages, complex drainage solutions, retaining structures and major enabling works before the steel frame even begins to rise. If you enjoy solving technical challenges, coordinating multiple workstreams and driving programmes on demanding schemes, this is the project for you.

The Opportunity

  • 12-month freelance contract
  • Watford-based
  • £425 - £450 per day
  • Immediate start
  • Major industrial development with complex civil engineering elements

You'll Be Responsible For

  • Leading the project from enabling works through to completion
  • Managing extensive groundworks and infrastructure packages
  • Coordinating subcontractors across multiple disciplines
  • Driving programme, quality, health & safety and commercial performance
  • Building strong relationships with clients, consultants and the wider project team
  • Identifying and overcoming technical challenges to keep the project moving

We're Looking For

  • Proven Project Manager experience with a Main Contractor
  • Strong industrial, logistics, warehouse or commercial project background
  • Experience delivering projects with significant groundworks, remediation or infrastructure packages
  • Excellent planning, leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications

Why This Role?

This isn't a straightforward warehouse build. It's the type of project that will test your planning, coordination and leadership from day one. You'll be joining a respected contractor on a technically demanding scheme where your experience will genuinely make a difference. If you thrive on delivering challenging projects rather than simply managing another steel frame, we'd like to hear from you.
