An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Facilities Manager to join the Centre Management team at a prestigious shopping centre in Stratford, East London. This is a senior leadership position offering responsibility for the strategic and operational management of all hard services, contractor performance, compliance, sustainability initiatives, and budget control across a high-profile retail asset. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the centre's premium standards while driving operational excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.

As Senior Facilities Manager, you will:

  • Lead and manage all hard services operations, ensuring exceptional service delivery across the asset
  • Oversee Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programmes and asset lifecycle planning
  • Manage specialist contractors and service providers, driving performance and compliance
  • Conduct regular site inspections and ensure high standards of workmanship and presentation
  • Lead contract management, procurement activities, tender processes, and service level agreements
  • Take ownership of health & safety compliance, CDM regulations, statutory obligations, and audit readiness
  • Manage service charge budgets, forecasts, and operational expenditure
  • Identify and implement cost-saving and efficiency initiatives without compromising service quality
  • Drive sustainability programmes and environmental best practice initiatives
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and support to the wider facilities team
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, occupiers, contractors, and client representatives
  • Contribute to the overall operational strategy and performance of the shopping centre

We are seeking a commercially focused and technically strong facilities professional with:

  • Proven Facilities Management experience within a complex retail, shopping centre, or commercial property environment
  • Experience operating at Senior Facilities Manager, Lead Facilities Manager, Principal Facilities Manager, or equivalent level
  • Strong contractor management, procurement, and contract negotiation experience
  • Excellent knowledge of health & safety legislation, statutory compliance, and risk management
  • Demonstrable experience managing substantial budgets and delivering value-driven solutions
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills
  • Sound technical knowledge of building services, hard services operations, and M&E systems
  • Strong electrical engineering knowledge gained through hands-on experience and/or a recognised electrical qualification
  • Experience managing electrical infrastructure, statutory electrical compliance, and specialist electrical contractors within a large commercial or retail environment
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement

Qualifications

Essential:

  • NEBOSH or IOSH
  • Recognised electrical qualification (City & Guilds, HNC/HND, NVQ, Degree, or equivalent) OR significant electrical engineering experience within a facilities management environment
  • Strong understanding of statutory compliance and health & safety regulations

Desirable:

  • Additional M&E qualifications
  • Legionella awareness/training
  • Professional memberships or relevant industry accreditations
