Working Pattern: Site-based, seven days per week

We are recruiting for an experienced MEP Manager with a strong mechanical background to support a fast-paced project in West London. This is an urgent requirement, with the successful candidate expected to start on site immediately. The role will involve overseeing a key MEP subcontractor and coordinating a range of mechanical and associated building-services works across the project.

The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring progress, coordinating site activities, maintaining quality and safety standards, and ensuring the subcontractor delivers its works in line with the programme.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee the delivery of mechanical and MEP works on site.
  • Act as the main point of contact for the appointed MEP subcontractor.
  • Coordinate and monitor the installation and progress of key building-services packages.
  • Oversee works relating to:
    • Sprinkler systems
    • Ductwork and ventilation
    • Pipework
    • Air-conditioning systems
    • Fire alarm installations
    • Associated mechanical and building-services works
  • Review progress against the construction programme and identify potential delays or issues.
  • Coordinate subcontractor activities with the wider site and project teams.
  • Ensure works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, quality requirements, and relevant regulations.
  • Carry out regular site inspections and monitor the quality of installations.
  • Support the resolution of technical, coordination, and installation issues.
  • Maintain a strong site presence and ensure health and safety standards are followed.
  • Attend and contribute to site coordination and progress meetings.
  • Provide clear progress updates to the project team.
Candidate Requirements
  • Proven experience working as an MEP Manager, Mechanical Manager, Building Services Manager, Mechanical Project Manager, or similar.
  • Strong mechanical building-services background is essential.
  • Previous experience overseeing mechanical subcontractors and coordinating multiple MEP work packages.
  • Good technical knowledge of HVAC, ductwork, pipework, air-conditioning, sprinkler systems, fire alarms, and associated services.
  • Experience working on complex, fast-paced construction, refurbishment, commercial, retail, or live-environment projects would be advantageous.
  • Strong site management, coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to manage subcontractor performance and maintain progress against demanding project programmes.
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on, site-based management role.
Mandatory Certifications
  • Valid Black or White CSCS Card – physical card must be available.
  • Valid SMSTS certification.
  • Candidates must be able to provide the required certification and physical CSCS card before starting.
