We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Manager (Fit Out Manager) to join a flagship high-rise development in Canary Wharf. This major mixed-use scheme involves the delivery of over 1,000 residential-style accommodation units alongside premium amenity spaces, communal facilities, commercial areas, landscaped public realm, and roof garden terraces within a highly complex urban environment.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on a large-scale, fast-paced development with a respected main contractor on a long-term freelance basis.
The successful candidate will take ownership of internal fit out packages across multiple floors and phases of the project, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Previous experience delivering high-rise residential, hotel, student accommodation, or mixed-use developments is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities- Manage day-to-day site operations for internal fit out works across designated floors and work areas
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and labour to achieve programme milestones and handover dates
- Oversee high-specification internal finishes including drylining, ceilings, joinery, flooring, decoration, kitchens, and final finishes
- Ensure all works are delivered in line with health & safety regulations and company procedures
- Conduct quality inspections and manage snagging/de-snagging through to practical completion
- Work closely with Project Managers, Commercial Teams, Design Teams, and MEP coordinators
- Manage sequencing, logistics, and workflow within a constrained city-centre environment
- Lead subcontractor progress meetings and daily coordination meetings
- Maintain accurate site documentation including RAMS, permits, progress reports, and site diaries
- Monitor labour, materials, productivity, and overall site performance to maintain programme targets
- Proven experience working as a Site Manager or Fit Out Manager on large-scale residential, commercial, hotel, or mixed-use developments
- Previous experience delivering fit out packages on high-rise or high-value schemes preferred
- Strong understanding of internal finishing trades and quality assurance procedures
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple subcontractors and trades
- Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation and site compliance requirements
- Ability to work under pressure and manage demanding construction programmes
- SMSTS, CSCS Black Card, and First Aid certifications essential
