Central London Permanent £35,000 - £45,000 + Package
My client, a fantastic Main Contractor based in the City of London, currently has a number of exciting new projects in place for which they are looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor with 2 years post-graduate experience to join their team in Central London. The successful candidate will join a prestigious project and will be ambitious to continue their development whilst working towards a Quantity Surveyor position.
Key activities
- Financial Reporting: Support the creation of the project cost variance reports and subsequent reviews by senior members of the project team. Support the creation of forecasts (final position and cash flow). Understand a project budget to track and ensure compliance.
- Estimating: Develop estimates with input from key subject matter experts, including taking site measures where appropriate. Support the creation of key records such as tender documents and bills of quantities. Feed into risk analysis and identify value management opportunities during pre-contract stages.
- Commercial Negotiation: Support and manage the end-to-end payment processes, compliant with the Construction Act, with experience in preparing and reviewing key documents such as applications for payment, payment notices, and pay less notices. Issue formal notifications with support from line management. Identify matters that may lead to a dispute and support the management of any such risks. Support the development of Procurement Schedules and project plans.
- Contract knowledge: Have a general understanding of a model form contract (i.e. JCT/MF1/NEC etc). Identify the most appropriate form of contract for the given use. Assist in the process to draft a contract, with support from line management. Interpret and enforce contracts. Support the site team on how to adhere to contract terms/mechanisms.
