Assistant Estimator – Pre-Construction / Fit-Out London | 12-Month Contract | Up to £220/day The Opportunity We are working with a leading global design, workplace and fit-out business looking for an Assistant Estimator / Pre-Construction professional to join their London team on an initial 12-month contract, with potential to extend or become permanent. The role is primarily focused on estimating, tendering, cost planning and pre-construction, supporting projects from initial client brief through to tender submission, negotiation and contract award. The ideal candidate will have experience within commercial fit-out, office interiors, retail, refurbishment or design & build. A background as an Assistant Estimator, Estimator, Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor would be well suited. Retail experience is preferred but not essential. Key Details Position: Assistant Estimator / Pre-Construction Location: London Contract: 12 months, with potential to extend or become permanent Rate: Up to £220/day Start: ASAPThe Role You will support the pre-construction team in pricing and winning work, taking responsibility for assigned tenders and helping develop projects from initial brief through to contract award. You will work closely with Design, Business Development, Commercial, subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring tenders are accurately priced, commercially competitive and submitted on time. Key Responsibilities Support and manage tenders from initial enquiry through to submission. Analyse drawings, specifications and tender documentation. Develop project scopes and pricing requirements. Produce cost plans and CSAs for tender submissions. Prepare and check Bills of Quantities (BOQs). Identify suitable subcontractors and suppliers. Prepare and issue subcontractor and supplier enquiry packages. Obtain, analyse and level subcontractor quotations. Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers throughout the tender process. Manage tender queries and coordinate site visits. Assist with pricing preliminaries, risks and project requirements. Provide commercial input during design development. Assist with tender submissions, Contractors' Proposals, programmes and methodologies. Support internal tender adjudications and present costs, risks and qualifications. Assist with client presentations and tender meetings. Manage post-tender queries and assist with negotiations. Revise pricing as the design develops through to final agreement. Assist with contract budgets and the handover from pre-construction to the delivery team.
