The Social Impact Manager is responsible for delivering the Social Value agenda and for building, maintaining and monitoring the contractors social value framework across the organisation. Working in partnership with department heads and senior management, the role ensures the effective development of their social value strategy to maximise impact and effectiveness, positioning them as a leader in delivering social value. This business, are a Main Contractor within the Construction industry and specialise in Building projects. Their Midlands team, are based in Birmingham but operate across a wide Midlands patch.
Main Responsibilities:
- Input to the Social Value aspects of tenders, covering scope for their programmes to be implemented whilst aligning to local needs.
- Drive and support the integration and forward planning of the Strategy.
- Implement social value themes, outcomes and measurements across the business, developing bespoke reporting and measurement models.
- Deliver, communicate and present the impact of social value activity to internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure appropriate evidence is captured to support social value reporting, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
- Represent the company on project-related local forums, committees and groups.
- Work with the Marketing and Communications team to produce case studies promoting social value activities externally.
- Guide bid teams and operational teams around the specific requirements of particular clients, local authorities and frameworks.
- Meet client, stakeholder, legislative, third party and internal requirements on social standards.
- Advise the commercial team on securing supply chain involvement.
- Advise on the design and delivery of the social value plan and how it will be achieved.
- Identify and liaise with relevant partner organisations, such as local schools, charities, and employment and skills agencies.

Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience in a Social Value or similar role.
- Good understanding of legislation, guidance and trends and broader corporate responsibility "thought" leadership and changing CR trends.
- Ability to learn, multitask and prioritise effectively.
- Strong ability to develop stakeholder relationships and manage expectations.
- Good written and verbal communication of English.
- Ability to work independently, in a team, and across departments.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel as part of the role.
- Personable, with robust leadership skills.
- High levels of emotional intelligence.
- Hard-working, able to work well both in a team and on own initiative.
- Able to work under pressure and towards tight deadlines.
- Strong balance between strategic thinking and pragmatic operational execution.
