We are currently working with a well-established engineering company based in Crediton who are looking to appoint an experienced MIG Welder Fabricator to join their growing workshop team on either a temporary or permanent basis.

The Role

As a MIG Welder Fabricator, you will be responsible for carrying out high-quality welding and fabrication work from technical drawings, ensuring all products are manufactured to company and client specifications. This is a hands-on workshop-based role working a standard 40-hour week, with overtime available depending on workload.

Day to Day Responsibilities

  • MIG welding on mild steel components and assemblies
  • Fabricating products from engineering drawings and specifications
  • Cutting, measuring and assembling metal sections
  • Operating workshop machinery and fabrication equipment safely
  • Carrying out quality inspections on completed welds and fabricated parts
  • Working to production deadlines and schedules
  • Maintaining high standards of workshop housekeeping and safety
  • Supporting wider production and manufacturing operations as required

Requirements (Skills & Qualifications)

  • Proven experience as a MIG Welder Fabricator within an engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Strong MIG welding ability essential
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Welding, Fabrication or Engineering preferred
  • Welding coding qualifications advantageous but not essential
  • Good attention to detail and quality workmanship
  • Strong understanding of workshop health & safety procedures
  • Reliable, hardworking and able to work independently or within a team
