The Opportunity
We are working with a leading property services contractor who deliver planned maintenance and refurbishment projects across the South of England. They are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their Southampton team, focusing on delivering painting and decorating contracts for housing associations and local authorities. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven professional to take ownership of contracts from inception to completion, ensuring projects are delivered profitably and to the highest standards.
The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing and controlling all financial and technical aspects of multiple contracts. Your role will include:
- Measurement, pricing and evaluation of tenders
- Full financial management of projects through to final accounts and cash collection
- Producing CVRs, forecasts and cost reports
- Identifying and implementing margin improvement opportunities
- Procurement and management of subcontractor accounts
- Preparing and submitting applications for payment
- Supporting Health & Safety compliance and contractual obligations
- Building and maintaining strong supplier and subcontractor relationships
About You
We are looking for a qualified Quantity Surveyor with:
- Professional qualification (HNC/HND/Degree/Diploma or equivalent)
- Previous experience of painting or refurbishment contracts (essential)
- Strong knowledge of bills of quantities, schedules of rates, and design & build contracts
- Proven experience in commercial management and subcontract procurement
- Strong reporting and IT skills, especially Excel
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- A collaborative approach, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
