Role Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Skilled Labourer to join a growing Energy Efficiency team delivering insulation and retrofit works across Cornwall. This is a permanent, full-time position supporting Loft Insulation Installers and Retrofit teams within occupied residential properties. The successful candidate will assist with the installation of loft insulation and associated energy efficiency measures, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a construction, labouring, roofing or property maintenance background looking to develop a long-term career within the renewable energy and retrofit sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting Loft Insulation Installers with the delivery of insulation and retrofit works
  • Loading, unloading and transporting materials to and from properties
  • Preparing work areas before installations commence
  • Assisting with loft clearance, boarding removal and access preparation where required
  • Supporting remedial and minor building fabric works
  • Ensuring materials, tools and equipment are maintained and readily available
  • Working safely within occupied homes while maintaining excellent customer service standards
  • Assisting with basic ventilation and energy efficiency improvement works
  • Keeping work areas clean, tidy and safe throughout installations
  • Recording works completed and supporting accurate job documentation
  • Reporting any issues, defects or health and safety concerns to supervisors
  • Maintaining company vehicles and equipment in line with company procedures
  • Attending team meetings, toolbox talks and training sessions as required

Requirements

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience within construction, labouring, property maintenance, roofing or a similar environment
  • Good practical skills and ability to use hand and power tools safely
  • Ability to work at height and within loft spaces
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Understanding of Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices
  • Ability to carry out physically demanding work safely and effectively
  • Reliable, punctual and professional approach to work
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Willingness to undergo a DBS check

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience assisting insulation installers or retrofit teams
  • Experience working within occupied residential properties
  • CSCS Card
  • Experience within social housing, construction or energy efficiency projects
  • Manual handling training
  • Basic understanding of PAS 2035 or retrofit works
