About the Position
We're recruiting on behalf of a leading maintenance contractor for an experienced Carpenter / Multi-Trade Operative to support a busy repairs and maintenance on a social housing contract across Birmingham. You'll be working within occupied homes, carrying out a mixture of planned maintenance, property improvements, and day-to-day repairs. This is a customer-facing role, so you'll need to take pride in both the quality of your work and the service you provide.
Day-to-Day Duties
- Complete carpentry repairs and installations within domestic properties.
- Carry out additional multi-trade work, including basic plumbing, plastering, tiling, and general maintenance.
- Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard.
- Build positive relationships with tenants while working in their homes.
- Keep accurate records of completed work where required.
About You
To be considered, you'll need:
- NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds qualification in Carpentry or another relevant trade.
- Previous experience working within social housing, local authority, or residential maintenance.
- A good level of multi-trade knowledge with the ability to turn your hand to a range of repairs.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- A full UK Driving Licence.
