Shift Pattern: Continental Shift Pattern – 4 on, 4 off (7am–7pm / 7pm–7am)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Shift Engineer to join our site-based engineering team in Hammersmith. Working on a continental shift rota, you will be responsible for delivering both planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across a critical site. This role requires a hands-on engineer with strong plant room knowledge and the ability to work independently as well as within a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out PPMs and reactive maintenance on mechanical systems including pumps, motors, AHUs, FCUs, chillers, and boilers
  • Monitor plant operations and ensure efficient performance of building services equipment
  • Respond to helpdesk tasks and complete work within agreed SLAs
  • Undertake fault finding and repair works across mechanical systems
  • Support statutory compliance, record keeping, and health & safety requirements
  • Work collaboratively with electrical colleagues and contractors on site

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services
  • 3 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance (commercial or critical environment)
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, pumps, chillers, and boilers
  • Strong understanding of health & safety procedures and statutory compliance
  • Ability to work continental shift patterns (days and nights)
  • DBS check required prior to appointment
