Build Recruitment are working with a well-established contractor to recruit a Senior Site Manager to join their social housing planned works division on a permanent basis. The role will oversee a range of planned works programmes across externals, kitchens & bathrooms and window replacements, with a key focus on driving the delivery of a backlog of works and getting programmes back on track.
The business already has a strong team of Supervisors in place, so this is a senior operational role focused on driving the project, managing performance and leading the team.
The Role
- Taking ownership of multiple social housing planned works programmes.
- Driving the delivery of a backlog of outstanding works and improving programme performance.
- Managing and supporting an established team of Supervisors.
- Coordinating works across external refurbishment, kitchens & bathrooms and window programmes.
- Monitoring progress, productivity, quality and Health & Safety.
- Providing regular reporting and updates to the Operations Manager.
- Acting as a key point of contact for the client and maintaining strong relationships.
- Identifying issues and implementing solutions to keep programmes moving.
- Working closely with commercial and operational teams to ensure projects are delivered effectively.
- Supporting the development and performance of the wider operational team.
About You
We’re looking for an experienced Site Manager / Senior Site Manager with a strong background in social housing planned maintenance or refurbishment. You’ll ideally have:
- Proven experience delivering planned works within social housing.
- Experience across one or more of external refurbishment, kitchens & bathrooms and windows.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to drive teams and programmes.
- Experience managing Supervisors, subcontractors and multiple workstreams.
- Strong client-facing, reporting and organisational skills.
- A proactive approach with the ability to identify problems and drive solutions.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety and quality requirements.
- SMSTS and relevant CSCS.
- Full UK Driving Licence.

The successful candidate will be expected to establish themselves as a key member of the operational team, take ownership of the programmes and work closely with the Operations Manager, with the aim of progressing into a Contracts Manager position within 12 months, subject to performance.
