About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Fire Alarm Engineer to join a well-established building services contractor based in Chelmsford. This is a permanent opportunity offering a competitive salary, company van, and fuel card. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, servicing, maintenance, and fault finding of a variety of fire alarm systems across commercial and residential properties.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, service, maintain, and repair fire alarm systems.
- Diagnose and rectify faults efficiently to minimise system downtime.
- Commission new fire alarm installations.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive call-outs.
- Work on a range of manufacturer systems, ensuring compliance with current industry standards.
- Complete all relevant documentation and service reports accurately.
- Liaise professionally with clients, site managers, and colleagues.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with BS 5839 and current health and safety regulations.
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Fire Alarm Engineer.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
