Data Centre Project Manager (Mechanical)

Salary: £55,200 £4,800 Car Allowance Benefits
Hours: Monday – Friday, 9am–5pm
Location: National (company van provided)
Driving Licence: Full UK Driving Licence essential

About the Role

We are partnering with a leading facilities management and engineering services provider with a strong technical heritage.

We’re seeking a Data Centre Project Manager (Mechanical) to oversee the design, installation, commissioning, and handover of multiple power generation and mechanical projects within the data centre arena.

You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards, while keeping within budget and programme requirements. This role will suit a mechanically biased engineer with proven experience in resilient power delivery and project management within mission-critical environments.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage the delivery of resilient power and mechanical projects across multiple sites
  • Prepare technical specifications and briefs in consultation with the design team
  • Develop and monitor project programmes in conjunction with the supply chain and senior stakeholders
  • Manage and coordinate specialist contractors, ensuring compliance with QA and performance standards
  • Maintain accurate site records, project documentation, and reporting
  • Carry out site inspections, oversee snagging, and manage defect resolution during FAT and commissioning phases
  • Ensure all RAMS are in place, suitable, and adhered to (whether subcontracted or in-house delivery)
  • Lead client, contractor, and pre-start meetings, representing the business in a professional manner
  • Safeguard statutory compliance and Health & Safety practices across all projects
  • Who You Are

  • Proven experience in mechanical systems such as pipework, HVAC, or related building services
  • Strong background in standby power systems (UPS, generators, and controls)
  • Solid experience delivering projects in mission-critical environments
  • Completed a recognised apprenticeship or hold technical qualifications in mechanical/building services engineering (Degree, HNC, or equivalent)
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage changing priorities and deadlines
  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety, ideally with CDM experience (CSCS Gold Card, SMSTS or IOSH desirable)
  • Strong communicator, confident liaising with contractors, stakeholders, and clients at all levels
  • IT literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
