Permanent Position in Essex

Build Recruitment provides specialist recruitment services, supplying quality candidates on a temporary or permanent basis to leading organisations throughout the built environment - from executive to operative level. With offices in London, Manchester and the Southwest, we specialise in Housing, Construction, Facilities Management, Property, Surveying, Health & Safety and Sales. We supply candidates from executive to operative level, and are currently working with a Housing Association, who are looking for an Operations Director based in Essex.

Day to Day for Operations Director:

  • Contract Delivery: Strategic leadership across day-to-day responsive repairs, voids, and minor works contracts, ensuring KPIs, SLAs, and customer satisfaction targets are consistently hit.
  • Commercial Acumen: Full P&L responsibility, overseeing cash flow, cost management, and operational profitability alongside the commercial team.
  • Client Relationships: Act as the key executive contact for housing associations and local authority clients, building long-term partnerships and managing framework performance.
  • Safety & Quality: Drive a zero-harm, work-safe culture and maintain high standards of Health & Safety, compliance, and quality across all contracts.
  • Leadership & Team Management: Direct and mentor a multi-tiered operational team, fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture.
  • Planning & Reporting: Produce and present detailed progress and performance reports to the Board and client stakeholders.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong IT skills (MS Office, MS Project) with the ability to review operational schedules, programs, and resource planning.
