Our client is a young, vibrant, award-winning building consultancy practice providing tailored services to the property sector. Formed over 10 years ago, they have extensive experience in the property and construction industry. They are retained surveyors for a number of prestigious and Listed Buildings in London and undertake a variety of work on a wide range of property portfolios, predominantly through links with residential property management companies. The majority of the work is based in and around Central London.

Role:
Due to continued growth, there is a vacancy in the central London office (Waterloo, SE1) for a Chartered Building Surveyor to deliver a full suite of building surveying duties to a range of predominantly residential and commercial clients. This position is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified Chartered Building Surveyor looking to develop their career within a forward-thinking, progressive, and expanding company. The team currently consists of seven Building Surveyors (four of which are Chartered), an Operations Manager, and a Team Assistant.
Responsibilities:
- Acting as lead surveyor with project commissions including:
- Contract administration duties
- Insurance reinstatement projects
- Planned maintenance surveys
- Design and specification of maintenance works
- Condition surveys
- Defect investigation and diagnosis
- Licence for Alterations
- Party Wall matters
- Pre-Acquisition Surveys
- Project Management
- Employer’s Agent roles
- Reinstatement Cost Assessments (for Insurance Purposes)
- Assisting with the development of new and repeat business
- Managing client relationships and service delivery on a project-by-project basis
- Management of team members
- Assisting graduates with their APC training
Employee Requirements:
- Experience in a wide range of Building Surveying services (Residential experience advantageous but not essential)
- Ability to work on own initiative and manage a wide range of commissions
- Ability to achieve pre-set fee targets
- Desire to develop a career within a consultancy environment
- Good team working skills and ability to communicate well at all levels
- Current full, clean driving licence advantageous but not essential
- Prepared to travel as required
- Proficient IT skills, particularly MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); knowledge of CAD systems advantageous
- Sound knowledge of construction and basic knowledge of building services
- Maintaining continuing professional development (CPD) in accordance with RICS requirements
- Effective problem-solving skills
- Ability to present well with good literacy and numeracy skills
- Experience of managing clients and their expectations
- Full understanding of Health and Safety requirements
Remuneration & Package:
- Holiday: Starting at 28 days per annum including public holidays
- Pension: Option to join company pension upon successful completion of probation period
- Private Medical Insurance: Option to join company private medical insurance package upon successful completion of probation period
- Bike To Work Scheme: Option to join this if required upon successful completion of probation period
