We are seeking a proactive Health & Safety Officer to join our team in Canterbury and help drive safety, compliance, and environmental improvements across our projects in Canterbury and the surrounding areas.
About the Role:
You will play a key role in developing and maintaining health, safety, quality, and compliance processes. You will carry out site audits, support training and toolbox talks, and ensure that all safety procedures are followed across operations. You will also work closely with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure standards are met, manage risk assessments, and support ISO accreditation and third-party audits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement health, safety, quality, and compliance procedures
- Carry out site safety audits and provide actionable feedback
- Support Toolbox Talks and training initiatives
- Assist with risk assessments, method statements, and construction phase plans
- Ensure subcontractors and suppliers meet safety standards
- Undertake supply chain audits and provide improvement recommendations
- Investigate, report, and record accidents, incidents, and near misses
- Arrange and conduct emergency evacuation drills
- Monitor and address non-compliance issues
- Maintain ISO accreditation and support certification audits
- Drive environmental improvements across the business
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Practical experience in construction, building, or facilities management
- Strong working knowledge of current health & safety regulations
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent
- Full UK driving licence
