As the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, and driving revenue growth. You'll be working closely with the Managing Director to manage and execute the company's sales and marketing strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential clients
- Proactively build and manage a pipeline of qualified business prospects
- Identify and engage key decision-makers within target organisations
- Upsell and cross-sell company services to both new and existing clients
- Take a consultative approach to understand client needs and offer tailored solutions
- Schedule and attend face-to-face meetings to build and maintain client relationships
- Entertain and engage with clients to strengthen business rapport
- Stay informed about market developments and key areas for growth
- Assist in devising advertising strategies to increase brand visibility
- Consistently meet and exceed monthly sales targets
- Maintain accurate records and reports within CRM software
- Collaborate closely with the Managing Director on all sales and marketing initiatives
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Minimum 2 years of proven sales experience, ideally within the construction industry
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport and present effectively
- Highly self-motivated and capable of working independently
- Demonstrated ability to conduct market research and identify new business opportunities
- Experience leading or mentoring sales staff is advantageous
- Proficient in the use of CRM software
- Full UK driving licence required
