We are currently recruiting for an experienced Flat Roofing Site Manager to oversee a large flat roofing package on a major project at Elstree Studios in Borehamwood.
The project is expected to run for approximately 30 weeks, with a maximum workforce of around 15 operatives on site at any one time.
While the project isn't particularly labour-intensive, we are looking for a strong No.1 Site Manager who can take full ownership of the site and report directly into the Contracts Manager.
Key Responsibilities Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the site.
Manage and coordinate the flat roofing works and site activities.
Directly supervise and coordinate up to 15 operatives.
Ensure works are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.
Coordinate subcontractors, trades and site logistics.
Plan and coordinate deliveries, materials and plant.
Monitor progress against the programme and report updates to the Contracts Manager.
Carry out daily briefings, toolbox talks and site inductions.
Ensure RAMS are understood, implemented and adhered to.
Maintain site records, including diaries, progress reports and inspection documentation.
Liaise with the client, Contracts Manager, subcontractors and other site stakeholders.
Monitor quality of workmanship and ensure any defects are addressed promptly.
Manage health & safety on site and ensure compliance with company procedures.
Attend site meetings and provide regular progress updates.
Identify and resolve any issues that may affect programme, quality or safety.
Ensure the site is kept organised, clean and compliant throughout the project.
Requirements Proven experience as a Site Manager, ideally within flat roofing.
Strong understanding of flat roofing systems and installation.
Previous experience acting as the No.1 Site Manager on projects.
SMSTS – Essential Black CSCS Card – Essential Strong knowledge of health & safety and site management procedures.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Ability to manage subcontractors and a workforce of up to 15 operatives.
Strong reporting and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of the project.
This would suit an experienced Site Manager who is comfortable being the key person on site, taking responsibility for delivery while reporting directly into the Contracts Manager.
