IMPORTANT: This role is specifically for a Curtain Wall / Cladding specialist. Candidates without direct façade experience will not be considered.
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in Curtain Walling and/or Cladding to take the lead commercial role across major façade projects. This is a hands-on position for a commercially astute QS who understands the technical and commercial complexities of façade projects and can take ownership from tender through to final account.
The Role
- Lead commercial management across allocated Curtain Wall & Cladding projects
- Manage projects from tender through to final account
- Cost control, forecasting, CVRs, cash flow and P&L reporting
- Manage valuations, variations, claims and final accounts
- Negotiate client contracts and subcontract orders
- Manage subcontractor payments, variations and performance
- Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risks
- Manage contractual notices, delays, EOTs and loss & expense
- Work with project/design teams on value engineering
- Build strong client and stakeholder relationships
- Support the Head of Commercial with commercial strategy
- Mentor and support junior Quantity Surveyors
About You
We’re specifically looking for a façade specialist with:
- Proven experience as a QS/Senior QS within Curtain Walling and/or Cladding
- Strong commercial and contractual knowledge
- Experience managing variations, valuations, claims and final accounts
- Good understanding of JCT, NEC and bespoke contracts
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Ability to take ownership of projects and deliver commercially
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior QSs
Candidates from general construction, M&E, civil engineering or other sectors without direct Curtain Wall / Cladding experience will not be considered.
