Our client is a multi-disciplinary consultancy providing high-class services in surveying, engineering, project management and fire safety throughout England and Wales. We are seeking a talented and professional Senior Façade Consultant to join the highly skilled façade and engineering team, providing investigation, due diligence, oversight, and construction oversight services. A significant proportion of the work involves the Fire Risk Assessment of External Walls (FRAEWs).

The role will include:

  • Taking the lead on façade and related fire safety instructions, focusing on the fire safety performance of building façades.
  • Leading Fire Risk Appraisals of External Walls (FRAEWs) in accordance with PAS 9980.
  • Working closely with project management and cost management teams.
  • Delivering and overseeing full-scale façade/cladding replacement/remediation contracts.
  • Leading the PAS 9980 FRAEW process from site investigation through to final report delivery.
  • Engaging with clients, project teams, and fire engineers as required.
  • Demonstrating practical understanding of façade fire behaviour, materials performance, and remedial design principles.
  • Applying PAS 9980 and drafting and publishing FRAEW reports.
  • Carrying out intrusive investigations of existing buildings, coordinating opening up, material sampling, collating data, and testing façade and cladding systems.
  • Advising on compliance and risk associated with external wall systems.
  • Providing technical input for Building Safety Regulator (BSR) Gateway applications.
  • Undertaking technical and quality assurance audits, tender reviews, RFIs, and due diligence reviews.
  • Preparing concise, accurate, high-quality project monitoring reports and documentation.
  • Leading resolution of technical enquiries and assisting with design reviews and project implementation.

The role requires operating out of the Manchester office with travel across England and Wales.

The Successful Candidate:

  • 5 years of relevant industry experience in consultancy and/or an engineering firm.
  • Detailed knowledge and technical appreciation of a range of façade types and fire safety measures.
  • Experience in reviewing design, engineering and construction documentation.
  • Ability to undertake contractor technical audits, tender reviews, RFIs, and due diligence reviews.
  • Experience in the assessment, design, and remediation of façade systems in high-risk buildings (18 m or 7 storeys and above).
  • Proven experience working on high-risk buildings, including BSR Gateway applications and compliance processes.
  • Strong knowledge of PAS 9980 and relevant statute, including Building Regulations and Building Safety Act.
  • Full driving licence.
