The Role
As an Electrical Estimator, you will play a key role in the pre-construction phase, preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a wide range of electrical engineering projects. Working closely with project managers, engineers, and clients, you will ensure all tenders are commercially sound and aligned with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed and accurate electrical cost estimates from drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
- Analyse project requirements and identify potential risks and opportunities.
- Source and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop competitive tender submissions.
- Attend site visits and pre-tender meetings where required.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market rates, materials, and industry standards.
- Support the handover process to project delivery teams upon successful bids.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator within an engineering or construction environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems and installations.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and organisational skills.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
- Relevant qualifications in electrical engineering or a related discipline (preferred).
