We are working with a reputable Mechanical and Electrical company who are seeking an experienced Electrical Contracts Supervisor.

Role Overview

The Electrical Contracts Supervisor will support the delivery of electrical installation projects across multiple sites. The candidate will be responsible for supervising electrical works on site, coordinating labour and subcontractors, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard, whilst maintaining strong communication with clients, project teams, and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise electrical installation works across multiple projects and sites.
  • Coordinate and manage direct labour, approved subcontractors, and specialist electrical suppliers.
  • Ensure works are delivered in line with programme requirements, project specifications, BS 7671 Wiring Regulations, and relevant industry standards.
  • Monitor productivity and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and project performance.
  • Attend and contribute to site meetings, progress meetings, and coordination meetings.
  • Undertake on-site practical works, testing, inspection, and fault-finding activities when required.
  • Support Contracts Managers in the successful delivery of projects.
  • Assist with planning labour requirements, procurement, and material deliveries.
  • Monitor installation quality and ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and client requirements.
  • Ensure accurate site records are maintained, including daily diaries, progress updates, testing records, and labour tracking.
  • Support commissioning, energisation planning, and project handover activities.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Promote and maintain a strong health and safety culture across all projects.
  • Create Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for all works, ensuring projects are carried out in accordance with company policies, RAMS, statutory regulations, and electrical safety requirements.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and safety checks.
  • Ensure operatives and subcontractors work safely and comply with site rules.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of RAMS, permits, and electrical isolation procedures.
  • Report hazards, incidents, and near misses in line with company procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with NICEIC, BS 7671, Electricity at Work Regulations, and client-specific requirements where applicable.

Client & Team Communication

  • Maintain professional and positive relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Provide regular progress updates to management teams.
  • Coordinate effectively with other trades and site teams.
  • Support apprentices and junior electricians through mentoring, training, and development.
  • Assist in resolving technical queries and site issues in a timely and professional manner.

Quality & Delivery

  • Ensure installations meet MEC quality standards and client expectations.
  • Review completed works and ensure inspection and testing documentation is completed accurately.
  • Identify and resolve technical or installation issues on site.
  • Assist with commissioning, snagging, testing, certification, and handover activities.
  • Support project close-out and completion documentation.

What you will receive:

  • 22 Days per year Bank Holidays. Increasing by 1 day per year up to a maximum of 25 days.
  • Pension: An employer pension contribution matching that of the employee contribution, up to 4.5%.
