Planner / Scheduler
Location: Motherwell
Hours: 40 hours per week
Contract: Long-term temporary, with potential to go permanent
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Planner / Scheduler to join a well-established and high-performing social housing maintenance contractor based in Motherwell.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy team supporting the delivery of essential repairs and maintenance services across social housing properties. The role would suit someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is highly organised, and enjoys keeping operations running smoothly.
The Role
As a Planner / Scheduler, you will be responsible for coordinating engineers and operatives, ensuring repairs and maintenance jobs are scheduled efficiently and completed within the required timescales.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Scheduling and coordinating daily workloads for engineers and operatives
- Managing appointments and ensuring jobs are allocated efficiently
- Liaising with tenants, operatives, supervisors and other internal teams
- Monitoring outstanding and completed works
- Rescheduling appointments where required
- Updating systems with accurate job and appointment information
- Prioritising urgent and reactive repairs
- Ensuring works are delivered within agreed timescales and service standards
- Dealing with queries and resolving scheduling issues promptly
About You
We are looking for someone with previous experience in a planning, scheduling, coordination or administration role, ideally within social housing, repairs, maintenance, construction or a similar environment.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience in a Planner / Scheduler role
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- The ability to work under pressure in a busy environment
- Good IT and systems experience
- Excellent attention to detail
- The ability to prioritise and manage competing workloads
- A proactive approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
Experience within social housing maintenance or repairs would be highly advantageous, but is not essential for the right candidate.
