We are recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a high-profile commercial building based in the St Paul’s area. This is a static, Monday to Friday role offering long-term stability and an excellent working environment.
The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background within commercial building services, be confident delivering planned and reactive maintenance, and hold relevant City & Guilds qualifications. Experience across HVAC systems, plant rooms and general mechanical services is essential.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out routine mechanical PPMs and reactive maintenance
- Conduct regular inspections to identify faults, breakdowns or potential risks
- Maintain HVAC equipment including AHUs, FCUs, pumps, motors and ventilation systems
- Support water systems including domestic services and cooling towers
- Assist with basic electrical tasks where required (training provided if needed)
- Work on building services such as BMS monitoring, generators and emergency systems
- Carry out minor installations, repairs and modifications
- Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers and site management
- Maintain tools, plant rooms and equipment to a high standard
- Ensure all work is completed safely, following site procedures and compliance requirements
- Support occasional fabric tasks when required
- Participate in ongoing training and site development initiatives
- Strong mechanical maintenance background within commercial building services
- City & Guilds Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification
- Good understanding of HVAC plant, pumps, motors and building maintenance systems
- Ability to diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs
- Confident working independently on a static site
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Willingness to support additional building services duties where needed
