We're recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join a busy, fast-paced FM team based at a large NHS hospital site in East London. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity with an immediate start for the right candidate.

The Role

As Mechanical Supervisor, you'll be responsible for overseeing a team of 10 direct reports across a busy healthcare estate, ensuring all mechanical plant and systems are maintained to the highest standards. A key priority on joining will be leading an AHU clear-out programme across the site, so hands-on HVAC experience is essential. This is a Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00 position with a call-out rota of 1 in 5 (12‑hour shifts, 08:00–20:00), so flexibility is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervising and managing a team of 10 mechanical engineers
  • Overseeing planned and reactive maintenance across HVAC and mechanical systems
  • Leading AHU clearance and remedial works as a priority on commencement
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory and site‑specific maintenance requirements
  • Acting as a point of escalation for technical issues across the engineering team
  • Participating in the 1-in-5 call-out rota

Requirements

  • Proven background as a Mechanical Supervisor within FM or a related environment
  • Strong HVAC knowledge, particularly AHU systems
  • Experience managing direct reports in a supervisory capacity
  • Healthcare or complex estate experience advantageous
  • Basic DBS required (can be processed on start)
  • Immediately available or on a short notice period
