We’re recruiting a Planner / Small Works Scheduler to support a busy MOD accommodation upgrade programme. This is a hands-on planning role suited to someone with a trade background or strong knowledge of building trades, able to troubleshoot works and keep programmes moving.
The role
You’ll assist in planning and coordinating planned upgrade works across MOD accommodation, working closely with site teams, operatives, and management. Works include:
- Kitchens & Bathrooms
- Carpentry
- Decorating
- Flooring
- External works
Planning and coordination will be managed primarily through Excel, so strong IT literacy is essential.
Key responsibilities
- Scheduling and coordinating small works programmes
- Troubleshooting site issues using trade knowledge
- Liaising with site teams, operatives, and stakeholders
- Managing sequencing of trades and resolving clashes
- Maintaining accurate planners and trackers in Excel
- Supporting delivery on an extremely busy, long-term MOD programme
What we’re looking for
- Trade background preferred or strong practical trade knowledge
- Experience in planning, scheduling, or works coordination
- Confident troubleshooting construction and maintenance issues
- Strong communication skills
- High level of organisation and attention to detail
- Solid IT skills, particularly Excel
