Our client, a progressive main contractor based in Dartford, is looking to appoint a Pre-Construction Manager to join a newly established pre-construction division. This division has been set up in response to a significant increase in workload, and they are seeking an experienced professional to help get it off the ground.
This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially-minded individual to manage projects from bid stage through to site start, before handing over to a Delivery Project Manager. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping processes, ensuring compliance with building safety regulations, and delivering projects efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead pre-construction activities across a range of projects, taking them from tender submission to site commencement.
- Provide commercial oversight, including cost planning, risk management, and value engineering.
- Ensure compliance with building safety regulations, with experience in cladding or façade systems highly desirable.
- Liaise with clients, design teams, and internal stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely project information.
- Establish and develop processes for the new pre-construction division.
- Support the handover to delivery teams, ensuring a smooth transition from pre-construction to site delivery.
- Strong background in pre-construction or project management within main contracting.
- Excellent commercial knowledge and experience managing budgets, risk, and value engineering.
- In-depth understanding of building safety regulations, ideally with cladding experience.
- Proven ability to lead and influence internal and external stakeholders.
- Self-starter mindset, capable of contributing to the setup of a new division.
