Role Overview

Build Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Repairs Planner to join a busy social housing repairs team in Croydon.

You will be responsible for scheduling and coordinating repair works for operatives, ensuring resources are used efficiently and repairs are delivered within agreed performance targets and timescales.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced repairs professional looking for a temp-to-perm position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule and manage daily workloads for up to 20 operatives.
  • Monitor and allocate emergency jobs promptly to meet performance targets.
  • Liaise with surveyors to authorise job variations.
  • Provide a high standard of face-to-face service to clients.
  • Achieve daily targets of a minimum of 60 job allocations.
  • Handle calls and emails relating to repair issues and updates.
  • Maintain accurate and timely updates on internal systems.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with operatives, clients and suppliers.
  • Diagnose repair issues using effective questioning and listening skills.
  • Manage the incoming repairs inbox and allocate tasks appropriately.
  • Monitor work in progress and ensure jobs are progressed within required timescales.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a repairs planning/scheduling environment.
  • Previous experience working within housing repairs and/or social housing.
  • Strong understanding of repair and maintenance processes.
  • Experience using job planning and scheduling systems.
  • Good knowledge of different trade types and typical repair job scopes.
  • Understanding of Work in Progress (WIP) management, jeopardy planning and extensions of time.
  • Knowledge of realistic trade job durations and repair timescales.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities.
