We are currently partnering with a leading national property maintenance and compliance contractor to recruit a Quantity Surveyor and Senior Quantity Surveyor for a flagship social housing refurbishment contract in Westminster. With over a century of combined experience, our client delivers repairs, refurbishment and building safety services across the UK, supporting hundreds of public sector and housing association clients. This is an excellent opportunity to join an established commercial team on a long‑term, framework‑driven contract.

The Roles

As part of the commercial team, you will play a key role in ensuring cost control, commercial governance and value for money across planned refurbishment works. These positions are ideal for commercially astute professionals with experience in social housing, planned works or framework contracts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the commercial and financial performance of planned refurbishment projects
  • Preparing and reviewing valuations, cost reports and forecasts
  • Managing subcontractor accounts, applications and final accounts
  • Controlling and pricing variations accurately
  • Supporting budgets, cash‑flow forecasts and cost‑value reconciliations
  • Working closely with operational teams to align delivery and commercial outcomes
  • Ensuring compliance with contract terms and client requirements
  • Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities
  • Supporting audits, reporting and internal governance processes

About You

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within construction, refurbishment or social housing
  • Experience working on planned works or framework‑based contracts
  • Strong commercial awareness and cost control capability
  • Experience managing subcontractor accounts and valuations
  • Good understanding of contractual and commercial processes
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • IT literate, including Excel and commercial systems

Desirable

  • HNC/HND/Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
  • Experience working on local authority or social housing contracts
