Chartered Building Surveyor Role
Due to continued growth of the company, we have a vacancy in the central London office (Waterloo, SE1) for a Chartered Building Surveyor to work in a fun, but hardworking environment, to deliver a full suite of building surveying duties to the range of predominantly residential and commercial clients.
This position would be an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified Chartered Building Surveyor looking to develop their career within a forward-thinking, progressive and expanding company.
The team currently consists of seven Building Surveyors (four of which are Chartered), an Operations Manager and a Team Assistant.

Responsibilities
- Contract administration duties (Project values up to £3,500,000.00)
- Insurance reinstatement projects
- Planned maintenance surveys
- Design and specification of maintenance works
- Condition surveys
- Defect investigation and diagnosis
- Licence for Alterations
- Party Wall matters
- Pre-Acquisition Surveys
- Project Management
- Employer’s Agent roles
- Reinstatement Cost Assessments (for Insurance Purposes).
- Assisting with the development of new and repeat business where possible
- Managing the client relationship and service delivery on a project-by-project basis in conjunction with senior colleagues
- Management of team members
- Assisting the graduates with their APC training (to compliment the external consultant we utilise for staff training).
- Employee Requirements, Chartered Building Surveyor
- Experience in a wide range of Building Surveying services; (Residential experience would be advantageous but not essential)
- Ability to work on own initiative and manage a wide range of commissions
- Ability to achieve pre-set fee targets on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
- Desire to develop a career within a consultancy environment
- Management of the surveying team members and clients as the role develops
- Developing new client relationships
- Good team working skills and ability to communicate well at all levels
- Current full, clean driving licence is advantageous but not essential
- Prepared to travel as required
- Must have proficient IT skills, particularly MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) as a minimum. Knowledge of CAD systems would be an advantage although not essential
- Sound knowledge of construction and basic knowledge of building services
- Maintaining continuing professional development (CPD) in accordance with RICS requirements
- Assisting Graduate and Assistant Building Surveyors with their APC
- Effective problem-solving skills
- Ability to present well with good literacy and numeracy skills
- Experience of managing clients and their expectations
- Full understanding of Health and Safety requirements
