Multi-Site Building Maintenance Engineer
Locations: Fleet Place / Bow Lane / Watling Street
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm (flexibility required)
Reports To: Contract Managers
Salary: £48,000 basic
Job Purpose
Working as part of a building maintenance team across three central London sites, you will manage day-to-day activities including Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), Reactive Maintenance, and additional works. You will ensure all engineering systems and plant are operating effectively and in accordance with contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily & Routine Duties
- Conduct a BMS review every morning and complete a walk-through of major plant and equipment, addressing critical issues and issuing a daily status update within the first hour.
- Maintain Water Treatment Logbooks, ensuring testing regimes and compliance requirements are met.
- Carry out weekly Fire Alarm testing and record results in the site Fire Safety Logbook.
- Perform monthly Emergency Lighting tests, recording results and repairs in the appropriate logbooks.
- Record utility meter readings at agreed intervals.
- Complete PPM tasks in line with scheduled requirements, ensuring statutory tasks are prioritised and updated in real time via the mobile work management system.
- Maintain high engineering standards to maximise plant reliability and performance.
- Ensure all documentation, PPM records, and Quality Assurance procedures are kept fully up to date.
- Respond promptly to reactive maintenance and Helpdesk requests, updating progress in real time.
- Coordinate with specialist subcontractors, including issuing permits to work.
- Participate in a bi-weekly call-out rota (one week on standby).
- Wear full uniform and PPE at all times while on site.
- Work in accordance with the Lone Worker Policy.
- Support colleagues and other trades as required.
- Complete timesheets accurately and submit within required deadlines.
- Submit holiday/absence requests through the approved process and follow unplanned absence reporting requirements.
- Carry out other reasonable tasks as required by the client under the contract.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety policies and statutory legislation.
- Ensure compliance with Fire Safety procedures.
- Follow ISO processes and business requirements.
- Complete mandatory monthly training.
