We are currently looking for a Quantity Surveyor based in the Bristol area.
Day to Day
To oversee the design, costings and financials of a 3.5 million£ scheme in the Bristol area. We require applicants to have in-depth knowledge of NEC contracts and have some understanding around social housing.
Requirements (Skills & Qualifications)
- NEC Contract Administration: Lead commercial management of projects ensuring full compliance with contract requirements.
- Change Management: Proactively manage compensation events, variations, and early warnings to mitigate risk.
- Cost Control & Forecasting: Produce accurate monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) and final cost forecasts.
- Procurement & Subcontractor Management: Oversee tender evaluations, contract drafting, and final account settlement with subcontractors.
- Client Management: Serve as the main commercial point of contact, building strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance, support, and mentoring to Assistant and Intermediate Quantity Surveyors.
Education: BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (or equivalent).
Professional Status: MRICS or working towards chartership is desirable.
Skills: Strong negotiation skills, commercial acumen, and proficiency in MS Excel and cost management software.
