We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to join a major delivery team working on a large infrastructure project in Bridgwater. This is an excellent opportunity to take a senior role in the delivery of major mechanical work packages, with responsibility across project coordination, technical delivery, commercial performance and stakeholder management.
The Opportunity
- Lead the planning and delivery of major mechanical work packages from design through to handover.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors and supply chain partners.
- Manage programme, budget, risks and commercial performance.
- Act as a key day-to-day interface with clients and senior project stakeholders.
- Review designs, specifications and engineering solutions.
- Support procurement, variations, change control and commercial close-out.
- Ensure mechanical works meet stringent quality, safety and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical leadership to Project Engineers and site delivery teams.
About You
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with a Degree, HNC or HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, with significant experience delivering complex mechanical projects within nuclear, energy, major infrastructure, defence or other highly regulated sectors. You should have experience managing engineering or construction packages through the project lifecycle, alongside strong stakeholder management, commercial awareness and project delivery skills. Nuclear experience is desirable but not essential — candidates with transferable experience from other complex, safety-critical or highly regulated environments will be considered.
