We are currently looking for an experienced Plumber / Multi-Trade Operative to join an established in-house repairs and maintenance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled plumber with strong multi-trade experience to secure a permanent position within the social housing sector, carrying out responsive repairs and maintenance across occupied and void properties.
The Role
You will be responsible for completing a variety of responsive repairs and maintenance works across residents' homes, with plumbing as your core trade alongside general multi-trade duties. Key responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out responsive plumbing repairs and maintenance within social housing properties
- Diagnosing faults and completing repairs efficiently and to a high standard
- Completing basic carpentry, patch plastering, tiling and minor building repairs
- Carrying out repairs and maintenance in occupied properties while working respectfully around residents
- Working across void properties, completing repairs and making properties ready for re-let
- Completing kitchen and bathroom repairs where required
- Using handheld devices to update job information and complete work records
- Maintaining a clean, safe and professional working environment
- Providing a high standard of customer service to residents
About You
We are looking for someone with a strong plumbing background who is confident carrying out general multi-trade repairs. Ideally, you will have:
- Proven experience as a Plumber / Multi-Trade Operative
- Previous experience working within social housing, housing associations or domestic properties
- Good all-round maintenance and multi-trade skills
- Plumbing qualification such as NVQ Level 2 or equivalent preferred
- Full UK driving licence
- Good communication and customer service skills
- A professional and respectful approach when working in residents' homes
