We are currently looking for an experienced Plumber / Multi-Trade Operative to join an established in-house repairs and maintenance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled plumber with strong multi-trade experience to secure a permanent position within the social housing sector, carrying out responsive repairs and maintenance across occupied and void properties.

The Role

You will be responsible for completing a variety of responsive repairs and maintenance works across residents' homes, with plumbing as your core trade alongside general multi-trade duties. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out responsive plumbing repairs and maintenance within social housing properties
  • Diagnosing faults and completing repairs efficiently and to a high standard
  • Completing basic carpentry, patch plastering, tiling and minor building repairs
  • Carrying out repairs and maintenance in occupied properties while working respectfully around residents
  • Working across void properties, completing repairs and making properties ready for re-let
  • Completing kitchen and bathroom repairs where required
  • Using handheld devices to update job information and complete work records
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and professional working environment
  • Providing a high standard of customer service to residents

About You

We are looking for someone with a strong plumbing background who is confident carrying out general multi-trade repairs. Ideally, you will have:

  • Proven experience as a Plumber / Multi-Trade Operative
  • Previous experience working within social housing, housing associations or domestic properties
  • Good all-round maintenance and multi-trade skills
  • Plumbing qualification such as NVQ Level 2 or equivalent preferred
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • A professional and respectful approach when working in residents' homes
