The Company
My client is a leading construction interior specialist sub-contractor working alongside blue chip contractors on some of the most prestigious commercial office projects throughout the UK.
The Estimator Role
Reporting to the Estimating Manager, you will be responsible for tendering the interior sub-contract packages for projects valued up to £500k. You will process and present selected incoming enquiries, co-ordinate, prepare and ensure tender submissions are evaluated and submitted in accordance with the clients requirements and time scale.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accessing, uploading, archiving, and downloading documents.
- Preparation of accurate material take offs.
- Identify labour, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, drawings, specifications, and related documents.
- Support client engagement during the bid process.
- Engage with manufacturers and suppliers.
- Adjudication and comparison of suppliers quotations.
- Presentation of the estimate to senior management.
- Present financial overview of bid allowing assessment of value engineering proposals and commercial amendments.
- Attending and organizing handover meetings and project progress meetings.
The Successful Estimator
This role would be ideally suited to any Estimator with an understanding of interiors packages such as internal glazing, joinery, ceilings and drywall with the desire and ambition to take their career to the stage with one of London's market leading interiors sub-contractors.
- Background in construction interior fit-out projects.
- Experience with internal partitioning, ceilings, drywall would be advantageous.
- Able to understand technical drawings and basic methods of manufacture.
- Responsible, organised and a great communicator.
- Ability to work on multiple projects and prioritise as required, at any one time.
- Ability to set clear goals, achieve targets, and monitor progress.
- A keen eye for detail.
- A self-starting mentality with strong initiative and a service attitude.
- Able to work well alone as well as part of a wider team.
