My client is one of London's leading interior specialist sub-contractors working alongside blue chip contractors on some of the most prestigious landmark commercial office projects in Central London. They have a young, vibrant workforce and are a market leader.
The Quantity Surveyor Role
They have an exciting position available within their Commercial Team for a Quantity Surveyor with approximately 5 years experience to work on projects on some of the most prestigious commercial office space in London. They are looking for an individual to carry out both Pre and Post Contract duties with an established existing team reporting to a Quantity Surveyor.
Roles & Responsibilities Include:
- Attend site at regular intervals to value works completed
- Price Variations to the BQ, revised drawings and specifications
- Price Variations from Qualification and expenditure of the provisional sums
- Provide detailed rate build ups where necessary
- Value delays to the programme
- Re-measure the works if applicable
- Submit valuations
- Check ongoing costs and interim profitability of the project
- Produce figures for monthly cost value reconciliation on each project
- Submit final account on completion of project
- Attend final account meetings as necessary and agree account
- Chase retentions when due
The Assistant Quantity Surveyor:
The successful candidate will have experience in specialist interior subcontract packages in areas such as partitioning, ceilings or drywall / drylining. The successful candidate should hold a relevant Quantity Surveying degree qualification; you will be an active and effective team member in respect of cost and commercial matters on the clients programmes interfacing with other members of the internal project team. Ensure accuracy and quality is to the standard required by the client. You will take commercial responsibility for contract performance to maximise both turnover and profitability, and will adhere to robust commercial process ensuring that the client obtains continued high quality and value for money.
You will have strong commercial acumen with good negotiation skills with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and architects to maintain/build robust relationships. You should have good communication skills as you will be required to express your opinions both in writing and verbally at internal and external meetings, with the ability to work well as part of a team, interacting positively with colleagues, internal and external clients.
