The Company
Established for 50 years, this company is a £50m turnover Civil Engineering Contractor, who work on projects throughout the North West, from Preston down to Stoke, with a high percentage in the Liverpool, Manchester, Warrington areas. They provide specialist groundwork packages of work covering all aspects of foundations and roads & sewers.
The Site Engineer Role
They currently have needs for Site / Setting Out Engineers who understand civils packages for the likes of groundworks, foundations and roads & sewers. Ideally someone who is also proficient in the use of AutoCAD. The role will involve working on 2 to 3 projects in a given week. All their sites have fully equipped site offices for you to work out of, so you will very rarely need to go to the head office.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Setting out of drainage, roads and house plots as well as other residential features
- Interpretation of design drawings for all of the above and setting these out on site
- Liaising with the design engineers and relaying information to the construction team
- Quality control of completed work and as built surveys
- Levelling and surveying various sites when required
- Maintaining an up to date site diary
- Effectively planning work between sites as to meet deadlines and maintain productivity of the construction team
The Successful Site / Setting Out Engineer Role
- Proven track record as Site / Setting Out Engineer, with experience of groundwork packages for residential housing projects.
- Familiar with Leica survey equipment, although consideration will be given to providing other equipment providing it is compatible with their systems.
- Proficient in the use of AutoCAD to interpret client drawings.
- Experience with setting up GPS controlled machines would be highly desirable but not essential.
- Willingness to travel and work between 2 to 3 site locations within the Northwest area.
