The client is a well-established turnkey Principal Contractor with a turnover of c£80m. This has been achieved by working collaboratively with clients to understand their needs and become an extension of their business, expanding service offerings and geography to meet the expectations required.
The Senior Quantity Surveyor Role:
They are currently looking to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Commercial Team in London, Canary Wharf. The projects they will be involved in are Commercial, Data Centre & Retail Refurbishment & Upgrades, working on JCT Contracts.
The role will require close collaboration with numerous stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, including but not limited to the following: designers both internal and external, architects, estimating department, key account leads, project operational teams both in house and client side, sub-contractors, manufacturers and specialist suppliers, client agents, commissioning teams and high-profile customers.
The candidate will be a key contributor from conception, through the design stages, managing all commercial aspects relating to delivery and ensuring that each project is successfully handed over and closed out in a professional manner to the highest of standards.
The Successful Senior Quantity Surveyor Role:
- Experience managing multi-million-pound projects from conception to final account agreement.
- Strong understanding of M&E installations.
- Good knowledge of standard form contracts (particularly JCT).
- Experience drafting and submitting contractual documentation (Notice of Delay, EoT).
- Knowledge of RIBA stages and requirements.
- Professional demeanour, client facing and with a keen focus on customer care in all instances.
- Ability to remain calm and solve problems under pressure.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Confident, effective communicator.
- Able to make sound decisions while assessing potential impacts to multiple entities both up and downstream.
- Ability to prioritise tasks when working to strict deadlines across multiple projects.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- A UK Driving Licence.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
