Quantity Surveyor – Estimating / Surveying / Procurement * c£55k – £65k Dependent on Experience * Car or Car Allowance * Possible Hybrid Working * Additional Benefits The Company My client is contractor and developer who carry out refurbishment, renovations, structural adaptations and fit-out across numerous sectors including industrial, schools, retail and commercial offices. The Quantity Surveyor Role They currently have an exciting opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor with 5 years+ experience working out of their head office based in Sheffield. Please note that the expectation of this role is for someone to provide support in the full commercial process from Estimating, Procurement and traditional day to day Quantity Surveyor duties. It is essential you can demonstrate an all-round approach and experience of all of these commercial processes. Reporting to the Operations Director you’ll be responsible for accurate, intelligent and profitable pricing, whilst taking a proactive approach to on-site expenditure and sales management. Ensuring cash moves in and out on time and providing regular, detailed reporting, you’ll also act as keeper of our commercial gateways, satisfying all the requirements of procurement and accounts. You’ll be expected to adopt a collaborative push/pull approach to critical path management and a real-time approach to cost management. Other deliverables will include: * Proactive risk management of key commercial outcomes * Calculation and fair valuation of prices and variations * Providing structured improvement feedback to the business. The Successful Quantity Surveyor * Ideally 5 years Surveying in either a construction main contractor or specialist subcontractor * Be able to demonstrate experience in the full commercial process including Estimating, QS Duties and Procurement. * Experience of Eque2 Evaluate Software would be great, but not essential * Familiar with computers, i.e. Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook. * Must work on own initiative and part of the team. * Must achieve relevant deadlines. * Must have a good understanding of commercial issues relating to tenders and securing work. * Must have a good understanding of designer’s specifications including building technology and materials
